Peavey EVH model question...

I played one of these today and it felt great! however, I didnt much like the sound or cosmetic look of it.

From a playing point of view, I really liked the fret size, but I cant seem to find anything with it listed (to find other guitars like it, the music shop in town only carries ibanez and peavey...:()

So, people who own these (or are better at the internet than I am lol) What size are the frets on this thing? (small, jumbo, medium?)

Thanks,
kyle

the frets are more that likely Dunlop 6105's...you can order a neck from warmoth with the same profile and frets to put on a ton of different guitars.

Re: Peavey EVH model question...

I'd say they're jumbo. I really love the neck on my Wolfgang, possibly more than the necks on my other 2 axes. The assymetrical profile is awesome, and the flat radius is really nice IMO. I have the action a tad higher on it than my other guitars and it plays beautifully, yet I don't like the same action on the others... it's a very different beast.

Re: Peavey EVH model question...

MY wolfie I have set with .52's and a slightly higher action than usual.
I loooove the sound.

The frets are Dunlop 6105's. What model did you play? Remember that there is a Wolfgang Standard, Wolfgang Special, and an imported Wolfgang EXP.

It was the special.

I dont think i was jumbos, becasue I played an RG also (that im fairly sure has jumbos) and those were just too big. The oposite for the yamaha I have now, the frets just seem small and weak.

Re: Peavey EVH model question...

I know for a fact that all American-made Peavey Wolfgang models use Dunlop 6105 fretwire. They are very tall but also very narrow. You may be used to jumbo frets that are wider, which is why they feel smaller to you.

Ibanez frets are always HUGE. Usually, XJ.

Yup! And I love it! :)

Wolfgangs are amazing guitars. I love Peavey guitars in general, they're all just so nice and easy-playing. For example, Fatty Woo's pink Vandenberg, that thing is smooth! The frets on it felt like Jumbos, but maybe a little flatter. Felt a lot like an LP Custom.
