I might have some money comeing my way and for some reason i really regret selling my former bass and now i want a new one(I'm feeling bassless). I wanted a five string since the low b can be really nice and i guess it won't be much harder to use than regular four strings. The Peavey Grind bass caught my eye since it's neckthrough, the woods look nice and it's not too expensive. There's also a six string version and i even think of going for one(having the high c on the ready can't really be bad even if i don't use it much) since it's not much more expensive than the five string.
On Harmony Central i read the same thing about the 6-string in all reviews: good sound, woods and great bang for the buck. Unfortunately the QC seems to be a little inconsistent and the factory setup seems to suck. Action can be corrected(after a good setup it's said to play and feel great) and QC can be bypassed by looking for a one without flaws imo(a bit like gibson).
So anyone here who played one or has experience with it?Any reasons against going for six strings? Better alternatives in about the same price region?
