"speaker outputs (29)
Paralleled 1/4" output jacks for connection speaker enclosure(s) to the amplifier (minimum is 4 ohms) when using more than one enclosure, be sure to calculate the total impedance and set the impedance switch (30) accordingly (see below section on impedance selector switch)

Impedance selector switch (30)
Used to select the correct impedance of the speaker enclosure(s) if two enclosures of equal impedance are used the switch should be set at half that value (I.e for two 16 ohms enclosures set the switch to 8 ohms, for two 8 ohms enclosures set the switch to 4 ohms.)

Ok so I have one 8 ohm enclosure, and I'm not sure of the ohms of the built in speaker which is hooked up already to one of the outputs.

In this case, you have to find out the impedance of your speaker (usually it'll be written somewhere on it, on the magnet for example). If it's 8ohms you're golden, just plug both in and set your impedance selector to 4ohms. If it's 16, then, IMHO, you can't really connect both at the same time. Maybe someone more knowledgeable will chime in telling you there's a way to do it but if it were me I wouldn't do it.

Re: Peavey Ultra 112 help

Where are those 2 "middle" connections soldered to.?
Looks like they are on the middle of the switch itself.
First one is on The Verb Switch, to ground
Second one is on the UC switch to a LED.
Thanks

To me, they look like the middle position lug of any spdt switch. At least that's how I understand it. They're just another type than what we're now used to see (with the three lugs on the bottom). I've seen some with one connection on one side and two on the other like they're drawn here.

On the verb it doesn't got to ground, it goes to pin 6...
The bottom left pin of each switch goes to ground. When it's switched to the other position, the circuit that involves the led is active, current flows through the led which then lightsup. The exception is of course the crunch/ultra switch which has an active led in both positions.

It's just another way of implementing the led thing. Nowadays with stompboxes people use dpdt or 3pdt, one of the poles (spdt switch) reroutes the current, while the second (or third) pole is used to send current to ground and complete the circuit when you want the led to light up.

10-4...SPDT...that makes sense. Not a big pedal guy, and have never seen it drawn that way.
Thank You

Re: Peavey Ultra 112 help

I don't know who all read this, so I'll give it a bump. So I did buy the amp, turns out it does have a footswitch but it just needs the 7 pin connector reattached or replaced (I'm probably going to replace it because the current one seems sorta cheap) also as soon as I got home plugged in tried playing, no sound, restarted the amp everything, Finally in a last attempt I tried unplugging the internal speaker from one of the 2 outputs, well whatta you know the 1/4" plug on the speaker cable just snapped off within the jack  :headache: So I pulled it out with pliers and plugged in my 4x12 in its place, it sounds great!! but now I need to fix a speaker cable.. Hey for $200 and my first tube amp I think this was a pretty good buy!

Re: Peavey Ultra 112 help

Thank you everyone for your help! My dad and I resoldered the speaker connector which had broken, and the footswitch and everything is in working condition now, this thing sounds great!! Pics will be posted soon if I have time to take them! thread closed.
