Peavey vypyr VIP 1

Re: Peavey vypyr VIP 1

I think you’re worried about things you don’t need to worry about.
Just put the amp at a reasonable volume and PRACTICE.

Re: Peavey vypyr VIP 1

My thought is that you shouldn't ask Sweetwater again. But I would still bring the amp to another person's house across town and try it. Other than that, live with it.

Re: Peavey vypyr VIP 1

That's pretty interesting. OK. I did try it outside, but not elsewhere. I'll crank the volume on the guitar instead of amp much, and maybe I can drown it and live with it.
Thanks guys. Or I could get a battery and go out in somebody's pasture, coz that's all that's here!! I hate cows. :yourock:

I would think that for at home practice you would almost NEVER need the amp master volume above 2 or 3.
Keep the guitars volume wide open but use it to make small adjustments to the tone/gain of the guitar sound.

Re: Peavey vypyr VIP 1

Hmmm
On my VIP2 I have the volume around 2 or 3 most of the time
As modeling amps dont need to heat up tubes to get crunchy

My guitar volume is wide open to get crunchy breakup
And then the guitar volume is rolled back slightly til it cleans up

Your amp should behave the same way
