Peavey Xxl 212 Combo

Did anyone try this amp ? I sold my Behringer GX 210 and i need a new amp. I tried some tube amps like Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, Marshall DSL 401 etc... But the Peavey XXL 212 Combo was awesome to my ears. I play hard'n'heavy with my Fender Strat. I still can't decide which kind of amp should i get. I know that Peavey XXL is not a tube amp but when i compare the sound quality with the others, i think that i have to choose Peavey. But too many people says " stay far away from the solid states ". I can't understand the reasons about this opinion.

So i need your useful opinions about this amp.

I know it's not tube, but it may turn out to be the most useful amp you've ever owned...
Get a Vox Valvetronix AD60 head and a good 2-12 or 4-12 cab.
The models sound really good, you have a variable wattage selector, recording out, headphone out, and onboard tuner. They do excellent clean to highgain at bedroom level to rehearsal levels. You'll get more use out of that, playing at home, than you would a loud clean tube amp.

And that's coming from a tube amp fan. AD60 heads don't cost that much, especially used.

i dont really like the XXL very much. but my XXX is godly. id say its worth the extra money

the XXL is one amp i'm glad i bought. it has a pleasant overall voicing, nothing too protrusive in the treble range which makes other SS amps so repulsive when cranked up. this amp is able to handle all my black metal & fusion tones & i duly retired all pedals since its acquisition.

I used to have a XXL half stack and it was a killer amp!!! Most folks that played through it couldnt belive it was not a tube amp!!!! Its a very versatile amp with lots of great sounds in it!!! I think you will be pleased with it myself!! BTW, I used to have a XXX also, it sounded good for 12 hours then it blew up!!! Transformers went clean out of it!!!!!

I think those tube amps needs a small fan in it, or perhaps some heat sink
