I hate to be the one to break it to you, but you are either born with perfect pitch or you're not.
With that said, congrats on the ear training, no doubt many people can be near perfect.

You are all wrong you need to listen to the notes carefully they actually SOUND different. It's not a "feeling" they sound completely different. I've never had perfect pitch in my entire life and I'm now starting to be able to differentiate between them......I'm only using the C4 octave and I'm a guitarist but for some reason I can hear the differences in the notes better on the piano. It's kinda tricky right now because I keep forgetting which sound goes with each pitch but sometimes I can remember and be like "oh ya thats the C"! This is not relative pitch whatsoever I've done alot of relative pitch training and this is not it because I'm getting my answers right because of how the note sounds. G# has a particular "shwing" sound like someone drawing a sword, E is very noisy and sounds like it's uncomfortable, C sounds calm and doesn't have any sounds that really "stick out" to me, and I can't remember but either A# or B sound like a growling cat hahahaha you probably think I'm crazy but take your phone with you at night when everything is dead silent and REALLY listen to the notes carefully!!!!!!!

Twilight odyssey do me a favor and let me BLOW YOUR MIND..........sit down with a friend for ONE HOUR (I say one hour because it takes a bit for your ear to start to get sensitive to the pitch noises) and tell them to play notes one at a time in the 4th octave of an IN TUNE piano and try and guess the note in a secluded QUIET place. Listen seemingly "above" the note......you WILL start to hear differences!!!!! Don't think about relative pitch but don't try and put out relative pitch, just ignore it.....kinda like when you are busy doing something and someone tries to say something to you but you're so tunes in to what you are doing that you don't hear them. You won't have fully developed perfect pitch but I swear to you that you will start to see that there are faint differences and you will go crazy!!!

I don't know if it's perfect or relative pitch, but I have found that after years of using a tuner and having visual feedback for the various notes, I can change my strings and have them fairly close to tune before I use the tuner to finish the job.

I know people born with it. They don't have to study it, and they don't have to practice or exercise it to keep it up. They can hear a cat walk across a piano or a car door slam and tell you the pitches (and in some cases, how out of tune they are). So, sorry, Surferman, while I believe you are able to hear something as you work on it, there are people out there that never had to work at it, and I've met several. It is strange, and freaky (much like the people I know). I don't know what you are arguing, or why you care so much about what other people's experiences are...I am happy for you, but I am siding with science and experience here.

Yup, hearing the vacuum cleaner at some pitch between E and Eb and not being able to do anything about it will be nothing but irritating. Relative pitch is the useful one to develop.
