Re: Phat Cats: PG Review "bright and clear" ????
Well maybe you could ask Becky for options??
They do that sometimes.

I had a Phat Cat in the neck of my Les Paul for a while. I found it to be a very bright pickup.

That said, if you somehow find it doesn't work for you, I'd suggest Wilde L90 by Bill Lawrence. The lower Henries is P-90-ish and the higher Henries are more PAF-ish. You'd get high quality pickup with clear-clean tone at an affordable price.
- I have a couple Duncan Staples, neck model, and they are incredibly bright and clear. Besides the price, the other drawback to them is that they require a very deep slot to fit.
I have to believe the the original intent and their best home will always be a phat hollow body.
Well, they were in the original 1954 LP Customs, so I kind of think they belong there too.
Thanks for that. Having had a REALLY BAD experience with the SD custom shop recently, I'm not eager to repeat it.
...and with my already mentioned nightmare experience with the custom shop....
...SD custom shop staples (horrendous recent experience with the custom shop)
...SD Phat Cats are tempting, but just too damn much money, especially after the uber-botched custom shop ordeal I recently went thru....
Eric, respectfully...this was 6 months ago. Goodness, I personally got involved for you one on one, Evan got personally involved for you, the CS apologized for the mistake and they expedited your order as quickly as possible. They were behind on custom orders, Derek offered you a full refund and a return as an option. Doesn't any of that count? Doesn't any of that get included? FOUR times in this one thread? Unprovoked? Will it ever become OK?
Unfortunately, I have read about this 'horrendous' 'nightmare' 'uber-botched' and REALLY BAD CS experience on multiple forums. Ill tell you bro, we all deserve a little understanding. I hope you get the pickup or sound or solution you are looking for and I hope you can let this go and open yourself up to some great tonal options. Its a curious thread to say the least.
