The thinline full-hollow in question ;

I am thinking . . . 'bucker-sized P90 (bridge / BK Mississippi Queen) & Duncan '59 (neck)

Unless there is something warmer and fuller sounding than a '59 neck ?

What do you guys think about this combo in a guitar like this ?

A2P regular or the Slash model on the neck. Other option would be a PATB-3 in the neck depending on if you mind the look or not.

Also a PGn.

How about Seth's?

I have a set of Seths, waiting for a 335 style guitar.

My idea, or rather my train-of-thought behind this full hollow is :

P90 [bridge] / full humbucker [neck] = P90 full sounding single coil that can still cut + warmest neck pick up out there (what ever that might be.

So, in the middle pos, you will have the best of both worlds, which is where i play a lot.

Oh, and i can get an Ibby like that (used) for very little money.

MMmmmmm, never thought about the Slash sig (for neck) before.

I am pretty much set on a P90 (of some sort) for the bridge.
Saying that, i also have an SD Dirty Harry that 'needs' a guitar.

Is the PGn warmer/fuller sounding than the '59n ?

P-rails in Triple Shot rings then.

For the neck, depends on your definition of 'warmer'. On hollow bodies, my experience is humbuckers lack bass. Singles like 90s, Dynasonics and Hilotrons have nice little bit of thump/punch to them which works well for single note leads and simpler 2-4-note chord passages. Treble is easy to roll off, but low end can't be made up very well if the guitar isn't putting it out through the pickups.

My pal has a set of fat cats in a semi-hollow. Thing sounds great.

I like the p90 idea in a full hollow. Very 330/Casino.

MMMmmmm, maybe a Phat Cat in the neck ?

If i recall correctly, Blueman said once, that the neck unit is very bass heavy.

Actually, they're very warm in some woods. May be what you want. Having A2's, the bass won't be tight. For a warm/full neck HB, a PGN would be a better choice than a '59N, which is midscooped and bassy.

Great . . . thanks for the info Blueman ;)

Have you tried the stock pickups?

Neck pickups I would head toward a p90. Bridge you might get away with a 59 with an A2 - thats what worked for me in the Epi Dot I had (not full hollow of course)

Re: Pick ups for thinline full hollow - what do you think of this ?

WLH's are unbelievably fat. I have one in the neck of my strat and it's currently fatter sounding than my Epi Les Paul or Ibanez Semihollow. Like it actually sounds huge.
