Ok, but, if you look at Pino Palladino, Bobby Vega, or Micheal Rhodes, and countless other p-bass players, they use flats.
And, it doesn't sound dull or not cut through. The original pups that started this thread were darker, but didn't have that "p bass" sound honestly.
Still though, all advice and opinions are welcome.
