Pickup for custom firebird

Hi guys I have a plan on building a guitar with a firebird or gibson RD body, the material would be mahogany, through neck with rosewood fretboard.. What would you wonderful guys recommend for the pickup?

NB: My first plan is to equip it with LiveWire, AHB-1 blackout and also Invader, what do you think?

What tone are you going for? With the Livewire, AHB-1 Blackout mentioned it doesn't appear as though you are going for the Firebird tone..

For the firebird I'd put sm-3 and sm-1 combination
For the RD I'd love dave mustaine's tone or you know... Heavy or metal kind of thing..

Ah I see, so you are looking at 2 separate suggestions. I was going to say the Firebird "mini-humbuckers" there are not as many options as going with Humbuckers and I would go with either Gibson or the Seymour Duncans you mentioned for the Firebird pickups.

For the Heavy Metal then the Livewires or Dimebag set would be good choices IMO

Ah I see, so you are looking at 2 separate suggestions. I was going to say the Firebird "mini-humbuckers" there are not as many options as going with Humbuckers and I would go with either Gibson or the Seymour Duncans you mentioned for the Firebird pickups.

What if I put a full sized humbuckers instead of the mini ones?

Oh yeah the dimebucker sounds great, what do you recommend for the neck pickup?? I don't know what to do with the neck pickup..

If you go with full sized humbuckers then we'd have to talk about what tone you would going after then. Are you wanting a rock/punk sound? Are you wanting a hard rock/metal? Would have to see what the end goal would be... (granted Firebird pickups in a Firebird shaped body does not automatically make it a Gibson Firebird...)

I personally pair the Dimebucker with a Screamin Demon–love the combo. However, the traditional "Dimebucker Set" has it paired with a '59 Bridge pickup in the Neckk.

I see–well the Firebird tone I'm use to is more on the rock side of things and not the metal. Hopefully others will respond as well so you can get more advice than just me–I am not a fan of EMGs so I will hold back my thoughts on those lol I've heard good things about the Seymour Duncan Firebird pickups if you wanted to go with the mini-humbuckers.

The clean tones are amazing with the Screamin Demon in the neck! IMO, it pairs beautifully with the Dimebucker (which is a super versatile pickup–yes it can do metal and yes it can do SO much more than just metal) because both are very articulate with the Dimebucker acting more agreesive/hard hitting and the Screamin Demon in the neck is more smooth.

I'm actually surprised more forum bros haven't chimed in... Firebirds are pretty rare birds (pun intended ) and don't have the followings (or even a fraction of the supply) that a Strat or Les Paul has.
