Pickup ID please

I have aquired a pickup that's supposed to be a Pearly Gates. It has no sticker on the bottom but it measures about 0.378" (9.6mm) distance from pole to pole and 8.35k-ohms DC resistance between the black and green wires with the red and white shorted. Opinions? The person that I got it from said that it was supposed to have alnico V magnets.

Re: Pickup ID please

It might be a Pearly Gates swapped with a A5 magnet. I know the PGb is usually around 8.2k, so maybe the previous owner thought they could make a Pearly Gates Plus with a simple magnet swap (the PG+ made for Lone Star Strats is actually ~8.6k). The person could also have been wrong about the magnets, the only way to check would be to do the fridge check with an A5 and an A2 magnet.

Maybe your ears could tell you more?

Re: Pickup ID please

I just retook the DC resistance measurement. I have a really cheap multimeter. This time it came up 8.5k.

Re: Pickup ID please

Thanks for the responses. I'm going to go on the assumption that it is a pg+ as the seller advertised.
