Pickup poll for Tele build #4

I already have 3 teles built with more conventional pickups, so I wanted to do something different.

This will likely be an alder body finished in Fiesta Red


Here are the pickup options I am considering:


1) Gibson 70s Tribute mini humbuckers in both positions (just got them, my original idea, but thinking more on it)

2) Seth Lover bridge / Gibson 70s Tribute mini humbucker neck

3) Seth Lover bridge / Screamin Demon neck (weird for a Tele, I know. But considering this only because I already have the Demon)

Not too far off from what I had in mind. Rear rout for sure, but I might go with a conventional blade switch and 2 pots (or blade + stacked pots) instead of the toggle, though that is a great look too. I may use a chopped Tele bridge. Still thinking through pickguard or rings.

I like it...

but I am not looking to waver from the pups I mentioned above since I already own them (though speaking of the Phat cat, I did forget that I also have a BG Pure90 bridge)

Definitely the mini buckers and you can get surrounds from GFS
that let you drop them straight into a P-90 rout.
I'm with Itsabass, the Cabronita look will suit the mini's best.

...well.... Maybe... I am now also thinking about the seth bridge with a Strat single neck :banghead:

I think the minibuckers would be the coolest since they are rarely seen (or at least I havent seen) them in a Tele.

I just ordered a body and it is not what I laid out in the poll above.

I ordered a sugar pine body, being routed H-H with a cutoff Tele bridge - I never thought I'd build an H-H Tele, but I've built 3 with Tele bridges, so this is something different and gives me some versatility. It will have a nickel-covered Seth in the bridge position and a nickel BG Pups A3 Rockwind in the neck (with some nice natural patina already) Since I don't think I want to cover the pine grain, for now I am planning to finish Trans White, Mary Kaye etc.. Neck t.b.d.

Seth bridge/mini neck here. My experience with a LP Deluxe is that minis are one heckuva smooth clear neck pup!
