Pickup Recommendation - Mahogany Body with Maple Neck & Board

Going to redo a project of mine that I loved until I finished my Walnut Strat project. Body is solid African Mahogany (2 piece for those who care) and I will be replacing the Warmoth Mahogany and Rosewood neck (my dad wants it for a project) with a Warmoth All Maple neck, maybe Roasted maybe Quartersawn...maybe both. lol Also wanting to replace the Gibson Ceramic pickups in her for another project in the back of my mind.

What would y'all suggest for a Mahogany and Maple combo? (Fender Scale and Vintage Trem) I play a lot of rock and blues–I have the hard rock/metal covered by my Walnut Strat, so I am just looking for something different. lol Thanks for the suggestions!

Which tone do you want to amplify with the pickup, the mahogany or the maple? Or do you want to balance the two? You should be aware by now of the inherent tonal differences between maple and mahogany, so I won't detail them here, and you should also know that it is more likely that one may dominate the overall tone.

Well, in a perfect world I would have the "snappy" side of Maple be balanced with the "warm sustain" of the Mahogany....so more or less a balancing act :chairfall lol

Most of my guitars have Rosewood Fretboards (both Mahogany & Maple necks) and I have an Ebony board in the works, so I would like to have a Maple board (one piece)

I think I'd like something like a 59/custom hybrid in the bridge and a '59 in the neck in a guitar like that. I think it would give you the oomph you need for rock and still be able to get a nice blues tone.

I'd say replace the neck first, see how the tone changes, and then go from there.

Good suggestion–I was thinking of using the pickups for something else (like an Epi Les Paul)

I've tried a '59 in the neck once (Ibanez Prestige) and it was not good; however, several factors at play such as not a bolt on neck, Rosewood fretboard, the bridge and neck...would def consider giving it a try.

Was curious about the DMZ Dominions

Bumping this thread, maybe getting a Maple neck in trade from a forum bro or if that deal falls thru I will buy one.

Regardless of which neck I get I will definitely try this first.

Has anyone played the 59/Custom Hybrid and a Gibson 500T? I currently have the 496R and 500T in my Mahogany Strat.

Thanks!
