First off, let me tell you I know exactly horse-manure about this topic, but here I go: If you're in an endless quest for treble and the Chuck Berry sound, I'd say get another axe. The spruce top on your guitar may not be as suitable for that type of sound as a maple top. Many of those old boxes people tend think sound warm are actually all-maple guitars. Maybe a Sheraton? However, someone already made a recommendation that might suit the sound you're after: phat cat on the bridge.
Hmm, so A2Pros, Seths and Phat cats.... Are the Phat Cats noisy if played through a chorus pedal or a slight overdrive? Again, 90% of the time they will be used TOTALLY clean, but every once in a while I may switch a chorus pedal and/or my FD-2 in to get more "modern" fusiony sounds a la Metheny, Scofield, Stern and McLaughlin.
