Pickups For G&L Legacy Special

i think i have the choices narrowed down to replace the g&l blades already in there. here they are:

anderson - combo of? sa-1's &/or sd-1's
duncan - duckbuckers
dimarzio - virtual solo (404) & virtual blues (402's)

the legacy has a swamp ash body & a maple fingerboard. any thoughts on these choices? the pickups it has could have a bit more sparkle and character than they do. the g&l blades aren't bad, but i do feel that there is much room for improvement. i don't want to put trad single coils in. my strat covers that. i want the g&l to be my hb/noise-free version. & there HAS to be better sounding hb's in a single coil size. the sets i listed above sound like they might fit that bill. the anderson's i've played & heard, the other 2 i've only heard clips of. i could use a few 2nd opinions.

while we're at it, what would you think of an anderson sd-1 or 2/sa-1 for the bridge, & 2 duckbuckers for the middle & neck?

evidently, judging from the responses, the duckbuckers aren't too highly regarded. think i'll have to give 'em a miss.

Unfortunately, I don't think there are good humbuckers in a single coil housing. I've looked and I've tried. The only pickups I haven't really heard are Andersons.

You can't really get the "fullness" of a humbucker in a single-coil housing. If it was possible, manufacturers would have found a way by now. The only real alternative bridges that I see strat players use are overwound single coils to sound like p90s (like the WCR "SR" bridge I have and will be selling). For those of us that don't like p90s and don't like strat singles, the only thing left is to route the guitar for humbuckers and move on.

i've got sr's in my strat (& xroads in my sg), so i am well into the power of jim! as for the G&L, i don't want full sounding hb's for it. i like having more power, especially for driving fx peds, but i also like the chime & sparkle of single coils. and i want this guitar to be noise free. i don't want noiseless sc's, because they sound anemic to me, compared to the vibracy of the real thing. funny, no one really makes a noiseless p90... anyway, i don't mind the g&l blades. i like having the volume, but i feel they're missing the sparkle & character of a sc or p90. that's why i've been looking into what's out there in stacks & rails. tell me, are the duckbuckers loud? i have an opportunity to pick up a pair that are custom, with 4 wires, meaning i can wire them up in series. they'd still be humbucking in series, no? & then i though i'd get an anderson sd-1, sa-1 or sa-2 for the bridge. from memory, the andersons were fairly spangly for a stacked sc.
