Pics of mines

I won't compete against Mike with the quality of the pics, but there ya go. I felt like showing off. All guitars setup and wired by yours truly. The model 1a (strat ish Charvel) has a nut made by me. It's not great :yell: but I managed to make her playable which was a big challenge ;) I need to work on the nut a bit again. Also the pickups in it aren't definitive.
The model 4 (blue Charvel) has a FullShred with a Ceramic magnet and a weird wiring that I thought of and Artie helped me with a while ago (thanks Artie). He also provided the CoolRails. Artie kicks ass! Dave sold me the FullShred, Brent the OBL, I got the Custom from Stevo and mags from Brent again (of which a BIG ceramic mag is in the Custom that's in the Kramer) so thanks to all these great dudes ;)
The Kramer has a push pull volume pot that when is in the upwards position, bypasses the volume control to be on fullblast. It's a nifty feature but still not the handiest. I think I'll probably end up setting her up for drop C with 11s, but a .52 on the low E. Right now she's in E, the 1a is in drop D (she needs a high e) and the model 4 is in drop C.

They're not done yet. The model 4 probably will get a new middle pickup someday, and the model 1a will get a matt black pickguard routed H/slanted S, the model 4's midboost and maybe a Distortion (I could score a cheap JB and use the oversized Ceramic magnets I have left). I think I'll leave the Stagemaster as she is. What else would she need anyway :) Ah and the model 4 could do with an OFR too since the FullShred is tremspaced (The Jackson JT6 Floyd has standard spacing). Both Kramer and model 4 will get a tremolno though, I love them too much to decide on tunings.
I sold my drumkit to get most of this stuff.

Nice supastrats!. I'll take the model 4. I think that's the best Charvel I ever had...

mmm..take that back....Model 7 was.

Re: Pics of mines

Thanks dude ;) Yeah those model series Charvel are GREAT bang for the buck. I want a maple necked model 7 too though :( And a model 5a, and a model 6.

I didn't care for the model 6 I had from a tone standpoint. Same problem I have with most Jackson/Charvel neck throughs..poplar/alder with a maple neck through is just bland/sterile sounding to my ears (especially with a Floyd). Bolt-ons sound a little snappier and lively.

The Model 7 was a great Tele. I gave it away to an aspiring young kid (along with my red Lead12 MicroStack). He always drooled all over them both when he came over with his older brother to watch/listen to us jam, and I just didn't use the 7 that much except for blues (LOL..I know..pointy headstock and all)

hahahaha... wait.. what? :laugh2:

As soon as I get a job (i.e money) this is what the model 1a should evolve towards:

Except the neck pickup will be white. Ah screw that I'll get a black one :D The bridge pickup will be one of my spare buckers I have. The neck will be made by Musikraft of Laz Gajic.

Re: Pics of mines

I'm liking the reddish orange Kramer. It'll look better with that Fender headstock. My problem with a lot of of those "Shredder" type guitars is that very same pointy headstock you're getting rid of. Whoever thought that the pointy headstock was an innovation in style needs to be pistol whipped.

Re: Pics of mines

Great guitars bro! You're on your way to one very SIC collection!

Re: Pics of mines

No no no it's actually redish pink :laugh2: Yeah she kicks ass. It was hard to tame her at first but I then used a different setup method supplied by octavedoctor which worked VERY well. Makes me think about PMing him to thank him.

Eh I LOVE the pointy headstock! I also just happen to love the strat one, which I think looks better with a pickguarded guitar. More 'in place' than the pointy.

Thanks dudes ;)

True dat about the pickguarded guitars and Strat headstocks. I dunno, if it's got a floyd and wild inlays of some kind I would agree that a pointy headstock would be appropriate, but if it doesn't the guitar just looks ridiculous. I mean, seriously, even BC Rich knows to make some quasi normal headstock on their more traditional fender shaped guitars. But even then, they have those crazy widow headstocks on their other guitars...but they fit...

But yeah, pointy headstocks, to me, look silly...but it's really the player and the sounds that player is making that matter right? not the guitar? I'm rambling...so...uh...nice reddish pink guitar there.

Re: Pics of mines

I am a bit disappointed, I thought you would have a collection of... Jacksons.

No kidding, nice axes. I'm not too much in shredding guitars but I wouldn't mind give a try at you kramer though.

Re: Pics of mines

Man . . . I love the red on the axe that got the Cool Rails. Glad to see she found a good home. :)

How do you like its tone? (Nice little collection, btw.)

Artie

Re: Pics of mines

It's a very smooth sounding pickup with a character of its own. I really like its sound so far. I don't use it too much yet though, so it'll most likely go in the middle position in the model 4 for leads someday. Great lead tone on it.

No Jacksons yet indeed. But I guess if I had to buy a guitar new now, it'd probably be one.
