Figured this might make an intersting pic. Got a chance to really sit down and compare my Spina-modded TS9DX, my Keeley-modded TS9 Reissue (808 mods) and a stock TS9 Reissue. I thre the Bad Monkey in there as well.

Played them into my Blues Jr. and with my first year Squier Tele which I've had forever.

He must have been listening to the tone, then passed out!
I understand. It happened to me yesterday. I woke up, and had the silverburst strat laying across my stomach and the Matchless Chieftain idling for a couple hours! :barf: :burnout:

Re: Pitting pedal against pedal...

Eh...it was more the journey than the destination.

For the money I was woefully unimpressed with the Keeley pedal. It had that really nice "snap" to it, but it's a hard price for me to justify for that.

As usual, the Spina TS9DX is the most versatile. The silly thing does everything....it's gorgeous.

The Reissue still surprises me at how good it sounds for the money. I picked it up in almost mont condition for $60 and it's got the irrefutable Tube Screamer sound.

The Bad Monkey's a little bit of everything in there.

If I was gigging and only had one overdrive to bring it would probably be the TS9DX. If I was playing mostly a Strat or Tele the whole night, I'd probably take the Keeley, and if I didn't have the Keeley it'd be the Reissue. The Bad Monkey's perfect for open mic nights or other places that it might get pinched.

The thing about that Tele is that it's hard to make it sound bad. It's a total tone monster.

hmmmm i'd love a tube screamer. apparantly the re issues arnt to bad

For the price (mine was $60 used at the lcoal GC) they're quite good. If I didn't have the Keeley modded one right next to it I would have said that it nailed that vintage TS sound. But Bob really does some nice things to those pedals.....

...now whether or not you view that as being worth what he charges is a different matter entirely!

Re: Pitting pedal against pedal...

SK- What about the Fulltone FD-2? I have always thought it was a great sounding Tube Screamer-type pedal. I have never spent a lot of time with any of the other pedals you mentioned.

I really appreciate the kind words regarding your TS9DX and I'm very glad it's working out for you! I have "B Bent's" TS9DX here at home and his will get the identical mods as your's and will be promptly sent back to him....I know he'll like his alot also....I've done several of these pedals and so far everyone I've modded has had positive feedback....Thanks again for posting and a Happy New Year to you also brother! :beerchug:
