Played a Charvel today!!

Re: Played a Charvel today!!

From a purely Scientific perspective, what difference does replacing generous quantities of fingerboard tonewood with slices of abalone-effect plastic make to the overall tone?

First of all, I suspect your sarcasm detector might have drifted off of factory calibration.

Second, there have been exhaustive scientific studies linking large amounts of abalone and/or abalone-effect inlays to… um… my not being crazy about how they look. The only real issue I'm taking is the arbitrary inclusion of a cosmetic feature that I don't value highly, on guitars that I think would benefit more from a little lower price point or slightly better [anything] instead.

Sorry. For a moment, there, I think that I was becoming Ariusly retentive. :D

You might need to explain that one. Even after reading the Wikipedia article, I can only guess at the joke.

When you approach the age of fifty and your eyesight fails, my feeble joke might begin to make sense.
