Please describe the Suhr SSV and SSV+

Has anyone tried them? How do they compare to the Duncan '59 and/or the Gibson Burstbucker Pro? I'm talking about the bridge position ones.

I tried the SSV Plus. I though it has a nicely balanced voicing, but I felt it was a bit clean sounding and lacking in character. It was in a strat style guitar. Sorry I can't compare to the other PU's you mentioned.

It was a Warmoth telecaster routed for HSS pickup config, with alder body and one piece maple neck.

Re: Please describe the Suhr SSV and SSV+

I had a SSV+ for a while in the bridge of a PRS SE baritone guitar, the original MM one, not the current offerings. It was one of the best pickups I had in that one, and I tried quite a few. Strong output and clear, not too much in the highs and the lows were pretty solid. In that guitar I struggled to find a good pickup that gave me a great low tuned rock tone, when so many pickups gave me a low tuned metal tone. I moved to a different Baritone after a few years and the SSV+ didn't work very well in that one (the newer guitar is very bright).

I had another guitar where I had a 59 bridge in it for a bit, and a SSV in it for a bit. They were tonally similar, same sort of ballpark. SSV had a bit more output. That guitar now has a Custom Custom that I'll probably convert to a Custom UAO5 this week.

Haven't tried a BB pro.

Thanks for the replies, dudes!

SFW, are those your clips? Can you elaborate on what kinda difference you experienced? Output? EQ? :)
