PLEASE HELP---BEST pickup for CARVIN w/ANPII(n)

I have a Carvin sc-90(Alder body w/maple neck, ebony fretboard)---I bought a c-5 for Bridge(I like the lead tone, not too crazy about rythum tone, kinda spongy, not crisp or crunch enough & does not compliment the AlnicoProII neck pickup at all!))--I have an ALINCOPROII in the NECK wich I like...

What kind of pickup should I get for BRIDGE?? I'd love a Brobucker but it's a little pricey(maybe not, I haven't checked, I heard $160.00)---

--WHAT pickup do you'all recomend--I play ThinLizzy, MartyFriedman(solo stuff), a little Megadeth, 'Tallica, MichaelSchenkerGROUP, etc...HARDROCK usually.

Re: PLEASE HELP---BEST pickup for CARVIN w/ANPII(n)

The original Carvin c-22 seemed OK----the LEAD tone doesn't SING like the c-5, not enought output for me(rythem wise).

Like I said, they're OK but I want better!

I have another CARVIN dc400 & the FULLSHRED in that guitar sounded way better & more articulate than the c-22's in my sc90, so I new I had to get some SEYMOUR's for the sc90 also.

Re: PLEASE HELP---BEST pickup for CARVIN w/ANPII(n)

if it weren't for the already bright construction of your baby, i'd suggest a JB since it would be tight, crisp, and crunchy and would pull off the Megadeth and Friedman stuff wonderfully (aswell as just about anything else). though i'm not really sure if you like that kind of upper mid range flavor in your tone. but again if you were to consider it for your guitar, i'd definately suggest using a 250k pot with it.

Re: PLEASE HELP---BEST pickup for CARVIN w/ANPII(n)

Yep----I have an old JB laying around I could put that in(but first I should get a 250k pot so it could smooth out the highs like yer sayin...)

Or I could just put it in w/500kpot that's already in it & see what's up...

Any other suggestions??

The thing is---the guitar is pearl white w/gold hardware & my current pickups are white w/gold rings--my JB is black.

I realize tone is more important than looks so i think I'll put the JB in & see what it'll do....If it improves I could get a white JB.

RECENT UPDATE:
I put my JB into my CARVIN------I'm VERY HAPPY, I think it sounds incredible!
The highs aren't shrill(like I thought it would be)----The lows are crisp & crunchy(if need be)...& it very clear!!

I think the JB is a keeper!!

Glad to hear the JB sounds great... I have a similar axe to yours and I was thinking of putting a JB in but was too worried itd be too bright. i think I'll try it now though.

My ESP has a maple body and neck with an ebony fretboard.

Yep--I think the JB would be an excellent choice----If , for some reason, it's too bright--you could always try a 250k pot..?

The JB isn't too bright at all--for me & my carvin sc90.....it's got a 500k pot...

Re: PLEASE HELP---BEST pickup for CARVIN w/ANPII(n)

Maybe a Custom Custom if you like hot pups. It's got an A2 magnet, and it's beefed up. Should be a good balance in the bridge of your guitar (since your guitar is made of alder) and with the A2Pro in the neck.

You could try the JB with 250k pots, since you have the JB on hand. That might work also. If you don't like it, I suggest the Custom Custom.

Re: PLEASE HELP---BEST pickup for CARVIN w/ANPII(n)

Thanks for advice w/CUSTOMCUSTOM-----That would be my 2nd. choice BUT I think my JB is the one--All by itself, that is...

I think the CC would be a better match w/ANPII-----better than the JB&AnpII.

I've never had good luck using bOTH pickups at once--I use EITHER the Neck OR Bridge but never both----maybe w/ the CC & AnpII I could use BOTH at same time!

Indeed, should be a better match. The JB is brighter, while the A2Pro is a lot warmer anyway, plus the fact that it's in the neck spot makes it even warmer. It's a bit of an extreme, the JB being a bright pickup on it's own being in the bridge and the A2Pro being a warm pickup on it's own in the neck. The CC should be the answer. If you like the output of your JB, but like the warmth of your A2Pro, I think you would love the CC.
