Please rate my rig, 2008 edition. PICS!

Hey guys,

So last year I started a thread about my rig, asking members to rate it, and to give me suggestions on how to improve on it. I got good replies, and my rig was able to grow from it. So now I come before you wise men once more asking for council. Rate my rig, make suggestions, and I will keep them in mind in the next year.

First things first, this is what I had last year.

Alright, now, the new lineup. Changes will be in italic.

Guitars :
- Godin Lg, all mahagony, rosewood fretboard, PG/CC w/ LR baggs piezo.
- Godin SdXt, All maple, now with 3 emg' SA single coils.
- Fender MIM strat, maple neck, black ( changed the guard to a black one )
- Aria Sandpiper acoustic
- La Patrie Classical guitar
- Epiphone MIA Custom Shop Wildkat
- Gibson Les Paul studio vintage mahogany

Amp:
- Nore more peavey windsor.
- Fender Blues deluxe reissue tweed. 40w single 12.

Effects :
- Boss ME-50, but I don't really use it anymore, exept for practice.
- E-H Big muff pi
- Dunlop Original crybaby.
- Boos RC-2 Loop station.

I use planet waves to hook everything up.

So with that said, please rate and comment. I'm always looking to make my setup better. Tell me what you like, what you hate, what made you cry, and what my next move should be.

Thanks dudes, you help is always appreciated.

First...before anything else...before any more time passes...I'd box up that Wildcat and send it to me. I mean, I live in Kentucky and that IS Wildcat country, I work in Lexington (home of the Kentucky Wildcats), It just would restore things to a more natural order....I'm just thinking about your well-being...you know....
Actually it looks pretty good, Is the Fender amp going to be enough in a gigging situation?, I know 40 watts, but sometimes more air movement is required. Other than that I think you have a very nice collection!. If you ever decide to get rid of the ME-50, let me know, I might be interested. Looking gooood!!!!

The only thing I can think of you might want would be some P-90 solidbody. (SG, LP jr sort of stuff)

i give it an 8 out of 10

it looks a good rig for what you use it for

Re: Please rate my rig, 2008 edition. PICS!

i'd go for a bit more of the modulation effects but that's just me

Re: Please rate my rig, 2008 edition. PICS!

I think you need to add a Marshall 4X12 with Greenbacks in basketweave and a Marshall JVM head. Also, a Gibson Goldtop with SD Antiquities. and a Rat!

nice looking stuff you have there.

Re: Please rate my rig, 2008 edition. PICS!

I'm gonna give you a ten (10). Basically because it's the same as mine. The Guitar collection is great. Really jealous there. I just use my strat and a Squier junker with a single HB into a wah, OD, into my small 112 tube combo. Not too fond of the fender amp.

I remember your thread about finding a small tube combo to replace your Windsor. I probably wouldn't have gone with the fender. That may be the only factor to make me want to dock the rating 1 or 2 points. But still, it's a great rig. And Im positive you'll be fine on a stage with that 112. Considering we play the same kinds of music, i'm aspiring to build my rig as you have. I soon will add some pedals, or maybe a multi Fx, and i'd really really like a epi Dot to fulfill what you get from the LP and the wildkat.

yeah, I know. I just like spending other people's money! LOL. you'd like that stuff though beleive me.

Re: Please rate my rig, 2008 edition. PICS!

No offence, although this probably will seem a bit offensive: I don't understand this thread. Clearly you have enough money to buy some really nice gear, but you don't seem to have an opinion on what to buy yourself.
Why ask other people to tell you what to buy? Can't you make your own choices? And if you only just changed gear last year, why replace it all again? I just don't get it.

Lol. I knew this would come up. The reason why I ask is simple : perspective. I know what I like and what works for me, but sometimes taking a step back and listening to what others would do or other options ( add on more than substitutions ) allows me to better my setup and tone.

Best example of this was my peavey stack, the only gear related item I ever sold. It was alright, but after people commented that my tone could be better using a lower wattage, higher quality amp, I searched for something of the sort, and ended up with an amp that was better suited for what I like to play.

I know it sounds strange, and I might not of answered your question, but that is how I see the situation.

With that said, what is your opinion on my setup? How would you rate it for blues/rock? What would you change, better, or add?

Re: Please rate my rig, 2008 edition. PICS!

Hey Phil, looks good to me.... I think I'd just get a matching extension cab for the amp? Apart from a P90 loaded git, you've got most things covered there! Nice set up.

My Wildkat has p-90s:headbang:.

Speaking of extension cab, I was looking for a single 12, but I would like to find one in tweed. Any options out there?

Re: Please rate my rig, 2008 edition. PICS!

Nice setup Phil. Maybe all that's missing is an EL-34 voiced amp.

Lol... how did I miss that??? I'm sure Fender do the matching cabs... or look for a peavey classic cab... not sure the tweed is a match though?
