Plotting my next guitar. JB or Angus Young signature pup?

I'm thinking my next guitar will be an Epiphone cherry SG. At the moment I play mostly metal, some rock/blues rock. Does anyone have opinions on one vs the other for the bridge position? Also what pickups would go well with either for the neck position?

If I go with the AY, I'm thinking it would be cool to get a cheap Epi Les Paul Jr to drop a JB into later on.

Definitely an Angus, you're talking SG's here! JB's aren't always reliable in mahogany and my track record with them in SG's and LP's isn't good. But for some guys they work out great. Where you're going to get the best from a JB is in a bright-toned guitar. There they shine.

Personally, I would choose the pickup after evaluating the natural acoustic properties of the host guitar.

Having said this, I have a drawer of "homeless" pickups that I intend to install into instruments eventually.

Angus. Not against the JB, but I would take any good quality "classic" bucker over it in an SG. For me, the SG screams for a classic sound...others may see it differently, and that's cool.

Used both the JB and good classic buckers, BTW...
