PodXT Live question

Okay--I admit this is a slightly tweaky application. I need to rethink my effects setup for gigging, and what I want is fairly massive realtime control over effects parameters. Whatever I use will be solely for effects and not amp models. For instance, I want to be able to call up a tone, say, a crunch rhythm sound, and then use an expression pedal to bring in a Leslie sound, or a weird chorus, or a big delay, or all at once, etc. I used to be able to do this really well with an ART SGX 2000, believe it or not, but that thing has broken 3 times and it's just plain unreliable.
Does anyone have experience with the realtime control on the PodXT live? How many parameters can you control at once? Is there zipper noise when you sweep the pedal?
What are some other processors that work well for this? I know TC and Lexicon have devices that will do this but they're really expensive.

I just want to be able to use an expression pedal to go from a normal sound to a crazy sound and all points in between.
Any info would be much appreciated!

The XTL allows you to control one param in a patch. Even with an external controller, you only get to control Wah/Volume with one and FX Tweak with the other.

Damn! Well, thanks for the info.
Why are they so stingy with parameter control? I know I'm a little greedy but is it so weird to want to control delay level and chorus level at the same time?

Any ideas as to what processor I should go with?

There's a certain level of functionality they build into them. Folks already complain that it's hard to get a good sound out of them. if they really let all the reisn out you can only imagine how bad it would truly be for the mostly inept to be even slightly capable.

For the record...the tempo of things like Delay can be set on the unit with the "Tap" function.

The only units I know of that had some sort of functionality in the realm like you're talking is ART's DST series.

I'd suggest owning the L6 green and blue pedals. They cover a lot of ground and you can use an expression pedal with them. They're very durable too, unlike the way the plastic floorboards look.

Since there are a lot of cool and trippy FX combinations you can get by blending the green and blue pedals, it's a good idea to get a loop box, and put them both on a loop. I have mine situated at the back of my pedalboard, so I can turn them both on before a song starts. Then, when I want them in the loop, I have one button on my loop box in front that activates them. When I click it off, they're out of the signal chain......so the whole setup is clean, true bypass, and quiet.

I don't use an expression pedal since I don't feel I really need it.....but it sounds like you do. Also, I have no more room! LOL

The Digitech GNX series let you control even the gain level with the expression pedal on it!Or the amount of chorus or whatever.Check them out.Maybe it helps?!Maybe Korgs new Floor unit does it too.I think You can even combine some effects on the expression pedal.The Amp models are terrible.But you want the effects ,and they got them!

Yep GNX3k is a very good equipment. But I prefer stompboxes.
