Re: POLL: "Perfect' or "Complete" guitar

One must have one Superstrat style guitar and one Gibson Les Paul in his arsenal for those complex lovely buttery sweet flavors and chimey warm tingles called TONE.

Owning both types of guitars is like owning a fine well aged whiskey that one must have in his bar to savor.

Oh, I think one can lead a very full musical life without a Strat. Some of my favorite guitarists use(d) Strats, but there are many, many more that manage to produce sounds not unlike those of nails on a chalkboard. Those thin, twangy tones are not everyone's cup of tea. As Wah Wah here once said: "Strats do not suffer fools lightly." They're often difficult instruments to get good tones out of, which makes me admire those few that do. Maybe you need to be a better guitarist to play a Strat well, hence the problem with so many of them falling into 'the wrong hands.'

By the same token, many Strat owners have no interest in having a bulky, warm-toned 10 lb LP. They often find the sound thick and muddy. Some players have certain preferences and focuses, and see no need to have guitars to 'play everything' (how many of us are good enough to play many different genres? Most guys have their hands full with one). :cool2:

Attack of the Zombie Poll Thread. Enough, already.

How come not one of yez mentioned the two electric stringed instruments that have infultrated every musical genre? The Fender Precision and Jazz Bass.

Wow this thread is gonna haunt me forever LOL! This was so long ago, every organ in my body regrew from scratch already. So theoretically, i'm not even the same person physically as the guy who posted this thread.

I think for me it would be a PRS custom 22 with coil splitting options through a Bogner Ecstacy.

Re: POLL: "Perfect' or "Complete" guitar

I selected "Strat Style" For me a Strat is a great guitar, good feel, incredible tone with the right pickups, and a hell of a lot of fun to play. That typed. I don't think one guitar can do it all. I am a firm believer that you need to select the right guitar for the right music. My two favorite instruments are a Gibson 335, and a black Clapton Strat!

Re: POLL: "Perfect' or "Complete" guitar

prs comes very close to merging both the Les Paul and the Strat tones the best. Hard to beat the versitility of that guitar thats for sure.
:bigok:

This. Along with an old Yamaha SG or Ibanez Artist.

Or a Les Paul with a sleek, contoured neck joint.
