Re: POLL - Which Amps are mentioned most?

Marshalls are my traditional home, but I love reading about (and looking at!) Scott's Celtics too. I'm waiting on the UK export versions. ;)

Re: POLL - Which Amps are mentioned most?

Fender.... I do like Vox and Marshalls too.. but Fender is what I normaly would want

Re: POLL - Which Amps are mentioned most?

The Celtic amps always look the best . . . I love to see all the pictures of them (and hear them).

Re: POLL - Which Amps are mentioned most?

Ya know, I really like that fender is finally listening to some players with their new amps, however the new HW Fenders are simply not up to the quality some of them smaller builders are doing...Mission Amps, Victoria, Richter, Clark, etc. As far as the Fender "57 amp" goes great idea...HW Deluxe circut with a Celestion blue STOCK however the solid maple cab IS a deal breaker for me...if it were in a "normal" pine cab I'd be much happier about it. That said if I want a tweed Deluxe the Mission version is as good, if not better than a real late 50's fender...something a lot of other builders claim but can't back up!

you asked two different questions: What is mentioned most.. and what do you want to read about most..

I want to read all I can on Fenders. the thing I see around here the most is prolly marshall.

Re: POLL - Which Amps are mentioned most?

For me it's Marshall. Those are my favorite amps. I love reading about them and the stories about Jim and the history of it all.

However, I would love to hear more about Mission Amps and Celtic Amps on here. Well, we get our fair share of Celtic. ;)

Bruce @ Mission does incredible work and is a nice guy to talk to. He knows his stuff. The Aurora is a winner in my book. It's got a little bit of Marshall, a little bit of Fender, a little bit of Vox, and a little bit of Matchless all rolled in to one amp. I'm saving my pennies for a 35W Reverb model. :D :fingersx:
The 18 watter is no slouch either. That sucka gets LOUD! Like "shut it down" loud. :laugh2:

I agree.

Also, I have not heard any of Scott's Celtic amps, but they sure look great.

I do wish my brother Bruce would post here more often...not to take anything away from Scott, but just so more people knew what a great guy and genius Bruce is and knew more about Mission Amps. Bruce and Ken Fischer were buddies and spent hours and hours on the phone discussing things. If Ken respected Bruce's opinions that much, that says alot...because, IMO, Ken Fischer's Trainwreck amps were some of the very very finest amps ever made.

RIP Ken Fischer...

Re: POLL - Which Amps are mentioned most?

I hear ya, Lew. He needs to start pimpin' his amps. :D

I wonder how many pennies I need yet? Better count that big ol' jar.

Re: POLL - Which Amps are mentioned most?

Of course I have to chose Fender with BadCat or VHT somewhere nearby!

I'd like to second that too. The only thing I have seen of Bruce's is your V Front and i hate to give you a big head or anything, but number 1 that is a super pimp looking amp and sounds freaking incredible.

I just can't see paying the kind of dough Fender is charging for their handwired stuff.

Re: POLL - Which Amps are mentioned most?

I didn't answer the poll because I like reading about ALL of the different brands.

LOTS of different flavors out there folks :beerchug:

Re: POLL - Which Amps are mentioned most?

Seems as though there are 2 questions there Stratman. :)

I think that Fenders are talked about the most in the SD amp forum.

I would like to hear more about Celtic amps, more boutique amps, smaller amp companies, or homemade amps. Fender/Marshall/Mesa is always going to have their share of the posts. It is all good.

PS. It is greatly appreciated when someone posts about an amp that is out of the norm because you just can't get a chance to play everything.

Re: POLL - Which Amps are mentioned most?

Sorry, i voted "OTHER" . . .

. . . and that will be ORANGE !

Also, love to read about Celtic & Fender too !
