Possible ear fatigue from Black Winters

How about you play your first sets with the other guitars and then when you need that push over the Cliff at the end of the night, you bust out of the BW Strat? :D

That is a good idea. I could start the night with the Fralin Strat and end the night with the Black Winter. It is sitting next to me right now on the stand next to the Carvin. I have been playing it more than any other guitar of late. The band has been off for two weeks due to vacations. I will drop the mids on the guitar a bit next practice to see how it sounds and responds. I really like this guitar at the top of the set. A couple of songs into the set, we do "Running With The Devil", "You Really Got Me" and James Brown's "I Feel Good" in the style of VH. The Black Winter shines on that part of the set. However, the Fralin Strat is also a screamer. I would call this a good problem to have.

I'd never tried Fralin pickups before playing that Strat. Nice crunch and harmonics have a sweet response to vibrato.

Yeah, Lindey knows what he is doing. His high output pickups have a lot of vintage characteristics that typically get lost with high gain pickups. The clarity, string definition, and response are all fantastic. The note bloom is beautiful, with an almost vocal character to the tone. The great thing is they play nicely in the dirt and can take you as deep, dark, and dirty as you would like to go.
