Post your band's recordings.

Re: Post your band's recordings.

Do one-member computer geek bands count? :D See sig if they do.

Re: Post your band's recordings.

That's some good stuff, hope the turmoil gets worked out.

If by "worked out," you mean our singer quitting music alltogether, then yeah. It worked out great. :)

Actually we're not breaking up. Finding a new singer is never fun, but our songwriting team is still intact so it's just a matter of plugging in a creative vocalist with a good ear and a good voice. We'll be back on track before '07. At least that's my mid-October estimate.

Thanks, btw.

Re: Post your band's recordings.

The practice space thread over in the guitar forum got me thinking about this one: post your band's page and recordings.

My current band: www.myspace.com/westcoastdoom

And the last one: www.myspace.com/sideofbacon

It is sometimes tough to hear on computer speakers but if I am hearing right, I really like the sound you guys have. Especially on kit. I love a metal kit that has real kick drum sounds. You know, like an acoustic kick drum instead of the new metalica sounding click/kick which I always think sounds crappy. I like it like the old slayer stuff. Where drums sounded like drums, not samples.

Nice sounding stuff.

The problem is that in a dense metal mix, it's nearly impossible to get a kick that has any weight, power, consistency, or clarity to it, without samples.

triggers or "samples" can sound fine if theyre used well, i agree the clickcliclick **** is anoying, even really fast double kick should have some thud to it

Definitely - you need to layer in some dynamics with the samples, or at least take advantage of multiple samples and automation.

The faster a drummer plays, the less hard he hits, which results in a softer and quieter sound. While consistency is a must, you must also have some feel to things.

My favorite thing to do is sample the actual drummers kit, and use that for the sound replacing.
