Wasn't sure which model it was at the time, and really I'm still not. I knew it wasn't the RG-Prime that Akira Takasaki uses, but they had two lower-range models - the Starrion and the Pirates - with very minor differences.

I also wouldn't mind having a handy wangcaster laying around...

I would also like one in a baritone scale lol. ;)

Re: Post your favorite oddball guitar

This it had 2 single coils in it, Stock and used. I loaded 2 Humbuckers in it. and changed the bridge. Right now it is going for a re mod and refinish.

Re: Post your favorite oddball guitar

I own 2 that qualify.
1- My 1990 Carvin X220C in Pearl Pink with a matching reverse headstock. This guitar is a poplar body maple neck and ebony board and is stone stock. It's SO super light it feels like a toy when you pick it up and is the most comfortable best balanced guitar to play on a strap for long sets I have ever owned. The neck is fantastic it plays like butter and sounds amazing! In action through my Zinky Blue velvet combo

Next is my 1996 Washburn USA A-30 Stage Series Reissue. One of a very very few USA truly hand built Chicago Custom Shop Stage Series Reissue guitars built under Grover Jackson in late 1995 and early 1996. Washburn never kept production #'s so we can't know for certan how many are out there. We do know it's absolutely less than 100 and many think there are less than 50. Darren who runs the vintage Washburn site and I can currently document the whereabouts of only 2 of these guitars, mine and the one Michael Batto has.
Honduras Mahogany neck and body, Flame maple top, Brazilian Rosewood finger board, 6100 Jumbo frets and flat radius of 16, Schaller Floyd and factory Duncans a JB/59 set. This thing is a real tone monster and flat SINGS!
At one time I threw it out for sale as I could use the cash right now but got no reasonable offers so I have now pulled it off the market. Last week I spent a few hours disassembling cleaning and really going through her then properly setting it up for the first time since I have owned it. Glad I did this as since it has flat been blowing me away since with the tones and playability. This is just a unique, super rare, great looking, fantastic playing and sounding guitar that now is absolutely a keeper!

Fender Musician's Friend Special Strat (Mexico).

Mexican strat's aren't all that unusual, but I like the sparkly paint and the neck is pretty darned nice. I wired this one up with a monster switch and the Blackout Modular Preamp.
