Power amp?

Hey guys!

I'm looking for a power amp to use in conjunction with my Axe Fx Ultra. I have a cab with four Celestion Rocket50s (50 watts each). What kind of wattage do I need for my poweramp?

I'd say anything from 50-200 watts should do nicely.

Mesa 50/50 or 2:fifty. Both stereo and tube driven (6L6). Pretty cheap used and sound great.

Those mesas can only do one side out if not in stereo, and the side not connected needs a dummy load, right?

No, just keep the volume at "0" and you'll be fine. You can also have it modded to get 100W mono.

The 50/50 is nice, I had one for several years. I bought a 2:90 a few years ago though and like it a lot better You can find great deals on them too. Also, most people love the old VHT power amps, but I have never tried one.

Cobain used a Crown power amp. I don't think I am the right guy to answer this question I am rocking a 600 watt JBL power amp with my setup.

Crown power's never let me down when it counts. I've used at least a half dozen different models of their amps over the last 20 years and all they do is work brilliantly 99.99% of the time.

Securb...you need about 400 more watts for that magic...twice as loud as ANYBODY EVER!!

Mesa Studio into Crown poweramp. Didn't Cobain blow up his cabs all the time? I remember reading something like that in an interview with is, then, tech.
