NICE!!! I had a focus 1000 that color when I was flipping axes so much. Gorgeous! I has a black 6k that I wish Id never have sold. It had an AWESOME woody tone that just sounded so 80s metal!

Actually two projects under construction, as I was going to sell the Extreme Relic '83 Maple Board Beak Neck and the Multi-Color PC II Modded Body, but I had all the parts to assemble it as well and for what I was going to get out of the parts, I might as well put it together too:

1983/87 Kramer Maple Beak Rainbow Splatter – SD Jazz/‘79 DiMarzio SDS-1/SD JB-Custom Custom A2 Hybrid TB, Volume/5 Way Strat Selector, Vintage Black OFR with Screw In Arm and 42mm Big Brass Block

Looks like a totally cool cat's been playing that Kramer neck, judging by the cigarette burn.

I like the metallic blue body. But I LOVE the splatter body! I would rock that thing to the grave! Did you do that paint job, or is that an OEM finish?
And how does that SDS-1 sound? I have one that needs to be rewound or something, but I don't know if it's "worth" being repaired especially if a new one costs the same $ as fixing my broken one.

SDS1 is my favorite single coil, a full set in all 3 positions sounds like...your favorite gritty Hendrix or SRV song (IMHO), although everyone compares them to a P90.

I normally love blue, but for some reason I'm just not digging that body :\
But then I'm not a big fan of HSS layouts or strat control layouts either. And with a floyd as well, it all looks too busy for my tastes.

The neck is really gorgeous though.

Last of the parts came in yesterday so both are ready for assembly!!!

How much do they sell those necks for? I like the headstock shape and logo.

Not really sure as I picked it up used off eBay, but they have a "Thrift Shop" just like Warmoth so I'm sure you could get a good deal on one if you move quickly once you identify one you want.

Looking cool! Seems like I remember those splatters being factory back in the day. Was laughing bout the cig burn on the headstock. Seems like Eddie kinda invented that too.. seen guys put em there and also stick em on the cut end of a string

Plenty of cats did that before him. Considering EVH was a huge Clapton fan I wouldn't be amazed if he saw a picture of Clapton doing it and started placing cigarettes on the headstock. John Lennon, Frank Zappa, Josh White and SRV did it as well. SRV was about the same age as EVH though.

There's a pretty cool story about how after a while Clapton told John Page and the guys at the Fender Custom Shop that he didn't want to keep burning the headstocks on his Fenders so John outfitted a brass tube on the headstock of a custom Strat for Eric so he could wedge his lit cigarettes there.
