Prospective passive pup convert needs advice.

I own an LTD EC1000 with EMG 81B and 60N and Ive discovered the limitations of my pickups (the scooped mid sound is getting annoying). Ive been noticing the tonal differences between active and passive and now I'm convinced that a conversion to passive pups will give me the versatility i want and the "organic" tone i want from a pickup. I play mostly black metal in standard tuning and im also trying to learn blues style too ans my musical taste has diversified over the past two years. Based on my research and recommendations from friends the Black Winter pups seem the best for my particulat needs.

Now for the reason I'm posting. After researching the process of converting a stock emg active guitar to passive Ive learned that I need to ream out the holes for my volume pots. Also I need to drill a hole from under by bridge in order to hook up a ground wire. With all this being said is there anything else I need to know?

Before you go nuts swapping everything out, have you thought about trying something like the EMG 57/66 set? Drop-in, plug-n-play installation with WAAAAAAYYYYY more passive style feel and dynamics. They'll do your blues and classic rock and still cover the heavy stuff with ease.

I'm aware of the 57/66 set but decent sound samples are hard to find and user reviews even more so. They were actually my first choice when I thought about new pups. So far based on the sound samples from the Black Winter's I like them better than the EMG's.

I will also be using the 500K Liberator volume pot. Can anyone confirm if the wiring diagram provided on the seymour duncan website for liberator 2 volume 1 push/pull coil split is accurate?

18v mod. Or Blackouts. They're fuller and a lot closer to passives in that regard. I recommend the BO neck pickup in the bridge position.
