or clean up the slots maybe? i havent looked closely at the new graphite nuts

Here is my brand new "SE" nut next to the USA nut I replaced it with:

The SE nut slots were cut too deep and/or wide on several strings. The material is softer than the USA nut and doesn't clean up all that well.

Considering the much nicer USA nuts are about $10 each and are essentially a drop-in installation (just need to sand the bottom to get correct height/action), the upgrade is one of the best bang-for-the-buck mods you can do to an SE!

when i bought mine used, someone had already replaced the nut with a well cut bone one and it had a refret. i swapped pups and knobs but thats all ive done other than play it a fair amount
