Re: push pull pot?
It's a combination of a switch and pot, generally used so you don't have to drill another hole in your guitar for a regular switch that might ruin the resale value, or because maybe there just isn't space to put in another switch to begin with.
The switch is on the bottom of the pot -- you just pull it up for one side of the switch and push it back down for the other. The pot itself functions normally because the switch and pot have nothing to do with each other.
