Copper-plated steel is also part of what makes the Twangbanger (https://www.seymourduncan.com/single-product/twang-banger-strat) work. You can also buy such plates from various places to test it out; attach them with silicone adhesive to avoid squeal. IIRC, the Twangbanger has a hotter wind.
