You know, a lot of pickup dis-satisfaction comes from two places IMO
1) Not enough listening time - you don't like it just because it's different
2) People don't change the eq/knoibs on the amp.

And - FYI....I say go with the JB still. Would this guy know 80's metal? This is me:

Always good advice. I've yet to find a model where adjustment wasn't integral.

OK, I've decided to buy myself a JB for this guitar.

For this guitar, should I get the JB Humbucker or the JB Trembucker?

Trem buckers are for Floyd Rose or other tremolo equipped guitars. A standard bucker will fit a most hard tail bridges.
However, take a measurement of the distance between to pole pieces of your current pickup to be sure.
Standard should be 50mm
Trembucker should be 53mm (some are 52mm).

I'd go with a trembucker in most modern guitars. Heck, even my Epi LP has trembucker spacing.
