Question about the switches in Jaguar guitars...

I don't know anything about Jaguar guitars... I don't even own one. I almost bought a Jaguar HH once, but I had no idea what each of the switches do and went with a completely different guitar instead that I'm very happy with.

But I'm still curious...

Is there a place that explains what the switches on a Jaguar-type guitar do?

Is it harder to change from the bridge pickup to the neck pickup on the fly?

Any advantages or disadvantages to the jaguar switches compared to the standard 3 or 5 way toggles of more traditional guitars?

Saw a thread on the Jaguar HH in the pickup section, just got me wondering again.

Changing pickups on the fly with the Jag wiring scheme isn't easy.

Part of the reason I don't still have my old one.

The three switches in the metal plate on the lower bout are individual on/off switches for each pickup as well as a switch for extra presence and twang in the lead circuit.

The other switch by the rhythm volume and tone controls switches between the lead and rhythm circuit. The rhythm circuit is much darker, and in the HH Jaguars always has both pickups on. The lead circuits volume and tone controls are the knobs located in the control plate near the bridge.

The rhythm circuit is useful for changing on the fly to a clean tone, or things similar to that concept... The main pickup switches are fairly logical and close enough together that they can quickly be changed with a twisting motion of the hand... I find they get knocked around far less than a 3 way switch.
