Question about using 2 amps at once.

I've been thinking about using my Boss DD7 stereo delay pedal to split my signal and send it to 2 amps at the same time. One of the amps has two 10 inch speakers and the other has one 12 inch speaker. (Roland JC-77 plus a Roland JC-50)

Will adding that second amp with the 12 inch speaker give me more bass response to my usual 2x10 speaker set-up?

...And I'm supposed to make sure when using two amps that I power my pedal board and both amps all from from the same plug outlet / power strip, right? (to avoid buzzing and ground loops?)

My experience is the two different size speakers sound good together. 12's are usually louder than 10's, so running a separate amp solves that problem.

I plugged the 3prong amp plug into a 2prong adapter and plugged the adapter into the wall. That got rid of the noise.

I run two amps sorta frequently. I plug one into the wall normally and use a ground lift (3 prong to 2 prong adapter) on the second amp. my little pedal board is powered by a boss power supply so its 2 prong already. when I use my big board it has a pp2 and I don't have ground/hum issues. if I did, I would ground lift that as well. as long as there is one ground (the first amp in my case) then you should be fine

The 12 won't necessarily give you more bass. For instance, my old Marshall 8x10 had WAY more bass, than my 4x12s. The shear mass of the cabinet contributed to this. But DAMN was that sucker heavier than Hell...

Good info here on ground lifting, and even using the polarity switch that comes on some old amps.

It's good stuff to know, because a lot of players get freaked out when they first setup a stereo rig and the 60 cycle hum is so obnoxious it scares them out of the idea.
