Question regarding Seth Lovers/Les Pauls

I am planning on buying an Epi LP Custom, and I really like the look of the black hardware on it. The thing is, I am more than likely going to be wanting to change the pups in it. The problem is, I really like the look of the stock pickups, and the only pup I know of that looks the same is the Seth Lover model.

Now, while the Seth Lover is a good pup, I'm not sure it would be most suited to metal. Are there any other pups that look like the Seth Lover model that would be better suited to metal and heavy rock? Or possibly is there some kind of pickup cover out there?

Thanks in advance.

You can order Duncans with covers..almost all of them I think

59 set or custom/59 will do Adrian tone quite nicely :D

I guess it depends on how much gain you use. The Seths would *kill* in a Paul, and I think would probably do metal exceptionally well. I think the only issue might be some squeeling due to the lack of wax potting.

Hehe, I didn't even need to ask about the Adrian tone this time :)

Thanks for the responses guys.

Right. The Les Paul is on its way! Should be here by next Monday. I think a pair of '59s would be good. If not then a '59 in the neck and a JB in the bridge.

3 outta 4 ain't bad! :D

I'd stick w/ all 59s or a SH5 custom personally..I just think a JB really takes away from the characteristic paula sound. If you'd like more mids or output, any of the custom series would be your best bet, IMO.

Now I think about it, a JB is a bit, you know, plain vanilla. Thanks for the advice Jeff!

Well it's just one man's opinion...I like my paulas to sound like paulas...Custom is about the only HO pup I've ever put in one that still retains alot of the LP signature tone...SuperDs, JBs, DDs...they sound really good..but they kill alot of the paula magic, IMO.
