Questions from a beginner guitar putter together

Re: Questions from a beginner guitar putter together

Take it to a pro. This isn't the guitar to be trying your skills out on. Get a beater for that.
At least when HE effs it up, you'll have someone else to blame.

Just to clarify about the neck pitch issue. (Originally raised in post #2.)

The Tune-o-Matic and Stopbar Tailpiece bridge/tailpiece combination relies upon a neck pitch angle. In order to work, the body of the guitar must "fall away" slightly from the line taken by the string. It is also desirable that the bridge and tailpiece inserts should be positioned perpendicular to the line taken by the strings.

Given the facts that the body must "fall away" from the string line whilst the bridge must be perpendicular, it follows that the bridge inserts must enter the top of the guitar body at the same angle as the body "falls away" from the string line.

Yes, I realise that this is boring BUT not nearly as boring as fighting with intonation issues for the entire lifetime of the guitar.
