Re: ragin cajun 10inch speaker
thanks you guys, I have a chance to get a Fender Hot Rod Deville 4x10 for 500.00 . I love my 68 reissue twin, its got that huge glassy Twin sound and I love the Bassman side of it too for jazz. However, 4x10's is always a cool spanky classic tone that cannot easily be replicated. I admit I'm not a fan of the regular Fender design speakers as they are too ice picky on highs and flubby on bass with a scooped mid range. I was hoping the Ragin Cajun's would round off the highs-but still sound chimey, tighten up the bass, and give me more midrange to cut through a mix better-without sounding too brittish. The amp is already bright, I just want to focus the tone away from....too bright..... to more of a smoother softer highs and punchy spanky midrange. I would use Celestions but I'm after a more classic Fender tone. I could use Eminance copper heads but I think they will be a tad too bright in this amp.
