has anybody tried the 10 inch speaker. I am thinking of putting 4 in a fender hot rod Deville that I just ran acrossed.

Re: ragin cajun 10inch speaker

I put one in a Roland Cube 40GX to reduce the spikiness of the stock speaker. Glad I did...quite an improvement.

Re: ragin cajun 10inch speaker

thanks you guys, I have a chance to get a Fender Hot Rod Deville 4x10 for 500.00 . I love my 68 reissue twin, its got that huge glassy Twin sound and I love the Bassman side of it too for jazz. However, 4x10's is always a cool spanky classic tone that cannot easily be replicated. I admit I'm not a fan of the regular Fender design speakers as they are too ice picky on highs and flubby on bass with a scooped mid range. I was hoping the Ragin Cajun's would round off the highs-but still sound chimey, tighten up the bass, and give me more midrange to cut through a mix better-without sounding too brittish. The amp is already bright, I just want to focus the tone away from....too bright..... to more of a smoother softer highs and punchy spanky midrange. I would use Celestions but I'm after a more classic Fender tone. I could use Eminance copper heads but I think they will be a tad too bright in this amp.

I've got one in my Princeton Reverb, it sounds good, nice and punchy with clear treble. At any rate, I bet a blend of Ragin Cajuns and Copperheads would be cool in that amp.

i put one in a fender champ xd. Big improvement in every respect.

Speaking of 4x10 tho....keep your eyes open for a quartet of the old eminence "blue frame" alnico speakers. They are the ones they used back in the 90s when they first reissued the tweed bassmans. Really excellent sounding speakers in a quartet. Fat, deep and warm. I believe the modern equivalent is the eminence 1028k.

Put one in my Ibanez 5 watt T/S'er amp.

Liked the amp and disliked the sound of the T/S circuit in this amp. New tubes helped but the amp with and without the T/S 'er was muffled, still too middy and nasty. It had a bottom of the barrel Celestin. Started looking for a speaker that would reduce the mids. Settled in the Raging Cajun because it had flatter mids.

Go to the Emmi website for the specs and clips.

With the Rajun Cajun. Now with the T/s on or off, this little amp has tighter bass, some smoother highs and most importantly, improved definition.
Now, when I use the T/S, the mids do not over power the highs or lows and sing out.

Re: ragin cajun 10inch speaker

1028k sounds interesting, so far the ragin cajun gets thumbs up from the forum. I have only heard a few Clips on YouTube. It did sound articulate but I was wondering with YouTube being so compressed. It sounds like what I am looking for.......soft rounded chimey highs, tighter bass, spanky mids...prices for these.speakers seem reasonable enough. I gotta check out the 1028k's. So far the Cajuns seem like a good choice.

Re: ragin cajun 10inch speaker

I've had a RC in my Princeton Recording Amp for three or four years (although I kept the original Jensen in a box). That speaker can handle anything I throw at it: Wild fuzz pedals, hot humbuckers, anything. It doesn't blink an eye.

It's a 10-inch speaker that doesn't mess around.

Re: ragin cajun 10inch speaker

Oh man, would I love to have a Princeton Recording! Or a Princeton Reverb. But don't those have a 12?

Re: ragin cajun 10inch speaker

Princeton Reverb is 10". Deluxe Reverb is 12"

You can still find deals on Silverface PRs, and the circuit remained the same as a Blackface for quite a while into Silverface cosmetics.
