Re: Rare 1971 Japanese Gibson SG with bolt-on neck!

seller added the following information:

PLEASE NOTE: I have received an email from an ebay member telling me that in his opinion this is NOT a genuine Gibson or Epiphone because in his opinion the Headstock is not correct. I cannot make any comment on this, because I am not a GUITAR EXPERT, but in my opinion AND the opinion of 9 top guitar players that I know ( including 1 who used to play in Michael Jackson's Band) and have played in my Band for the last 20 years or so, it appears to be genuine and certainly plays and sounds so!

If any Bidder would like to withdraw their bid under the circumstances, I fully understand.

Thank you.

:lmao:  :duh:

Ok . . . someone help me out with my guitar education here.

I surmise that this isn't a Gibson. Tell me why. :yell:

Re: Rare 1971 Japanese Gibson SG with bolt-on neck!

why is he making such a big deal of it having two pickups? :laugh2:

Re: Rare 1971 Japanese Gibson SG with bolt-on neck!

That headstock gives it all away.... oh, and the horribly fake Gibson logo too ;)

Re: Rare 1971 Japanese Gibson SG with bolt-on neck!

That's not a real Gibson. They didn't make bolt-ons in that period that I can recall, Japanese or otherwise. The headstock, logo and tuning knobs are wrong, too. The bridge has been radically repositioned and the pointers on the volume & tone knobs are not consistent for what I've seen for that period. It may play well, but it's not a collector piece, in my opinion.
