Re: Recommend a new rock/metal guitar!!
How about a double cutaway les paul if you don't like the les paul?

I have no hands on experience, though..

JacksonMIA said:I actually misread your first post. I thought you said those (DK-2, SG, etc.) were the guitars you were considering. That's what I meant by get the Jackson. I'm surprised and sad to hear that Soloists are so expensive over there. I understand that they're a little higher in Europe, but I got mine for US $1300 brand new.
As for something different than what you've got, you might take a look at Godin guitars (h8red mention Seagull - part of the same company). I don't know if they deal over there or not, but they're nice guitars with several different styles (some even with SD pups) and reasonably priced, IMO.

vinterland said:Thats why I would recommend trying to find a seller on ebay who will ship internationally and packages extremely well.
heem6 said:I would totally buy the parts and put your own guitar together. Even if you have to pay someone to do some of the work for you, you'll most likely get a much, much nicer guitar than what you could buy a manufactured one for.
Stew Mac Strat Body = $195
Warmouth Neck = $200
Original Floyd Rose = $200
Two Seymour Duncans = $160
Sperzel locking tuners = $55
Misc. electronics, knobs, etc. = $75
About $900 plus labor for a guitar that will kick other guitar's asses around the block!

all maple body, bolt-on (I think)... HS setup. Not sure about the price. Check the tips and clips for a sound file.

Jonny R said:Otherwise, yeah, I'd probably recommend an Ibanez RG based on european pricing.
Jonny R said:What about a local luthier though?
Watroba said:+1 on the Schecter.
Schecter new plus Seymour Duncan Upgrades=Much better guitar than RG for money IMO.
If you want a hardtail go for the C1-Blackjack or the C1-Elite and change the Pups. If you want a Floyd check out the C1-FR.

h8red442 said:LTD (ESP) makes some really nice stuff for that money too in either 6 or 7 string. If you went LTD you probably go ape sh*t with $1200 and get something nice and tricked out.
The 400 range (almost the same) are like the deluxes but without the sparkly binding (if that's what the problem is).Johtosotku said:I guess I'll have to test them out again. The LTD Deluxe is something that would fit in my price range, and they do really have excellent hardware. It's a shame that they spoil their guitars with those fancy tops and bindings, though! I guess I'll have to visit the importer when I go see Testament, Accept, Gamma Ray, Destruction etc. this weekend!
