Recommend me a practice amp

Re: Recommend me a practice amp

HT-5C is a combo. HT-5R I believe comes in head and combo form, both with digital reverb built in.

Re: Recommend me a practice amp

I got a Fender Mustang I a month ago and I am still amazed by how good it sounds.

Best of all, it costs half what you're budgeting, so less time saving, more time rockin'

Re: Recommend me a practice amp

I don't recommend anything below the 30W model in the Vypyr series, just as an FYI.

Also, if I was going VOX, I'd step it up to the VT40+ model for the bigger speaker.

Both are available dirt cheap as "scratch n' dent" or "used" models if you look around...

Re: Recommend me a practice amp

The Valvetronix plus series are rated anywhere from 10-40 watts above their number designation. A VT20+ is actually 30 watts, which is more than adequate for bedroom practice.

They have a tube stage and a built in attenuator, I've rarely ever had to go over a quarter of the maximum wattage for studio use, which keeps my neighbors happy.

I personally think the VT+ series actually surpasses the Tonelab ST pedal with the sheer amount of banks and ease of use.

It is by far my favorite piece of studio gear. Indispensible with its built in noise gate, retarded amount of effects and tube simulation.
