Is there any problem with going XLR out of a mic preamp into RCA on the sound card in our computer?

Re: Recording help/ adapters

You will be going from a balanced signal to an unbalanced signal, thus increasing your noise floor. Does your soundcard have a TRS input?

Re: Recording help/ adapters

Probably.

XLR line out's are usually +4dBu and RCA line connectors are usually -10dBu. So besides the impedence issues the sound will be all distorted & crappy because you'll most likely overload the poor soundcard with the RCA. Give it a shot though, if it sounds ok then it is ok but just turn that level WAY down.
