Schecter also make a Alnico / Ceramic pickup called Apocalypse. Alnico V with ceramic flankers. It looks pretty awesome too.

The most obvious option might be to turn down and use less gain. Move the amp across the room or point it away from you. That can't be good for your hearing.
My Moog delay should pay for a few bridge pups. If I find anything decent I'll record some stuff.
That was what EMG said to me. I'm almost on crunch levels of gain. The problem occurs with every EMG loaded guitar I try. I'll keep a pair for tracking and persevere with another guitar.
Our drummer is so loud all three of us guitarists need to crank it a bit. And festival volume levels are out of my control. I can cope with it and have done (while wearing ear plugs!!)
I'm selling a bunch of stuff and buying pickups. My Moog delay should pay for a few bridge pups. If I find anything decent I'll record some stuff.
Well, I'd have a talk with the drummer. If you were doing something that killed the show for him, I bet he would say something to you. I don't buy 'that is just the way I play'. The best drummers aren't playing that loud. You might look into a completely different system when playing with people like that...like in-ears for yourself and an onstage monitor pointed towards the other band members. I don't know if the current situation is worth losing your tone or hearing for.
It isn't being made yet. So any advice on how to create a pickup to help stop the unwound B and E strings from sticking out so much would be welcome. I'm going from the BKP Juggernaut which has ceramic with A5 flankers. I may just ask him to do that if you guys can see a reason why not to put different magnets in like I suggested.
Have you looked into Mojotone's PW Hornet?

The layout of the slugs and screws is meant to help that issue.
Check out the El Diablo. I have them in 3 of my guitars that play heavy metal of different varieties. In a mahogany body, I got really tasty sounds out of the clean channel, especially with the volume rolled a little back. They are pricey, but I love those things.

A heavy Alnico 2 .... Looks like fun. Is this how we end up with 15 guitars?![]()
