Fellas,
I think I don't like single coils as much as I should, and that's why I decided that I tested the surfers long enough, and went back to my beloved 8.75K/7.70K antiquity HB set. (Apples/Oranges :duh: I guess my 3 other strats should do! :laugh2: )
The bridge has an a5 magnet, and the neck has the stock dun-aged one.
Here is a pic of it with the surfers and another with the timbuckers (the ants are of the same color, thus, that's the way it looks now).
This time I did the Peter Green mod, physically. I mean the bridge and neck is magnetically out of phase. This guitar has a very woody tone, and was an ideal candidate for that mod. Guess what happened! Instant success. I really can do almost perfectly the intro of "need your love so bad".
BTW I did not flip the neck pickup, so shoot me.
