Binding is still alive and kicking. This chassis contains some 1000HP riffs, driven by the pair of white 'buckers by Bones ;)

Custom decals are on the way:

These are not the correct sizes, logos are smaller and race number is big.

Re: Resurrection of the first one

Awesome thread Necropolo!
Last year I had a great time on the Sziget festival in Budapest!
Have also been in other places in Hungary when I was younger. Always thought the people were nice and the food really really good.
Good luck on the project.

Hell yeah man - good progress, clean lines.

It is damn hard to get a line like that with no bleed / spillover --- on the micro level, how'd it go? And what did you use to mask it?

Re: Resurrection of the first one

@Nightburst: I'm glad that you have nice memories about this place :) Sziget is one of the nicest fests around in this continent, it was a good choice for a visit. I agree about food and nice people on an individual level.

(...though as a whole/nation it is not the best I can imagine, last few years' pressure did not get the best out of people here, as a consequence an ample of young talented friends left the country for a better life, I miss them dearly - rants off).

@ImmortalSix: I decorated 1:24 model cars ages ago and 'painting' straight lines sometimes with one (! :) ) piece of hair and a thin drop of enamel paint /and starting all over when something goes wrong/ should not be a problem for me ;) I'll try to dig up some model car and post a pic. Won't be easy because I gave almost all of them away as gifts, the few boxed ones I kept are being sunk at my parents' basement somewhere.

Well, this process would take additional weeks, I'm old and unpatient so I admit that I'll go the easy way of course ;) Erik has many car pimping assignments so he knows folks who can manufacture precise and weatherproof custom decals. Their machine prints/cuts them in a sec and prices are very friendly as Erik is a returning client. He said he's going to do some level sanding to create some "bed" before applying the decals then the surface gets a thin (but strong) protective lacquer that seals everything.

Today all the logos have arrived so I can start to scale them. This is the latest plan:

Re: Resurrection of the first one

looking great! decals arent my thing, but it works cool with the racecar look and cool of you to pay homage to the "sponsors" that have helped! Cant wait to see the final..

+1, totally. I'm glad I didn't enter that contest. I wouldn't have done anything even nearly this cool.

Also, I ****ing love this thread.

Re: Resurrection of the first one

The decals and placement of them is pretty cool. It really reinforces the racecar style you have going. My decal should have a bowtie instead of crossbones but then the bowtie would gay up your whole axe.

Have no worries, here is one of the most bada$$ ties that was ever produced in the 'verse ;)
