Re: (Return of) The Well CXXI: Chris of Arabia - fire 'em in...
What band would you love to be asked to fill in for on a set - and what are few songs you would do with them?
Whilst I obviously couldn't do this justice, it would have to be Rush - Limelight, Closer to the Heart, La Villa Strangiato and Between the Wheels would have to be on there
Ace, Gene, Peter, or Paul?
I'm really not that fussed which of them gets to valet the car
What style of music that you DON'T play, would you love to play?
I suppose classical style like Steve Hackett or Rodrigo y Gabriela can do
First concert, last concert, best concert ever attended?
The Electric Light Orchestra were first all the way back in 1976
Soundgarden were the last in March this year
The best concert is a tough one, but I'll go with Fleetwood Mac in 1980 (I think) at Stafford Bingley Hall - never before have I seen an entire audience dancing on their seats, in what basically amounted to a cow shed (it's the County Showground other times)
The state of music; Better, worse, or same as it ever was?
I still think it's out there, but a) I rarely get to see it because of where I am, and b) the kind of stuff we tend to appreciate is not getting much in the way of media attention right now - the industry appears to have finally work out how it wants to package and sell things; what we like isn't it.
One in disposable tool - what is yours?
Sorry, lost me with that one
Give me a roast dinner with all the trimmings and I'm happy.
Favorite beer, wine and liquor?
A pint of Guinness if you're offering please
Mrs. Arabia - where met, how long together, favorite thing about her?
We met in May 1996 in a pub in Preston, got married in July 2000, and the fact that she was willing to let me take a job in somewhere like Saudi Arabia speaks volumes for her - she did that when we were planning a wedding, and weren't actually able to live together properly until August 2002 when she joined me out there.
United States finical situation: Untenable in the long run, or will be just fine?
It would seem from afar as if there is something of an imbalance in such things right now; they have a habit of 'correcting' themselves eventually, which some may find rather painful when it happens. You'll survive though
Favorite guitar tone(s) of all time (may respond with up to five)?
Gavin Rossdale from 'Golden State', Steve Hackett on 'Firth of Fifth', Gary Moore on 'Empty Rooms', QOTSA on 'Little Sister' and Dave Gilmour on 'Comfortably Numb'
