Reverb? TC Electronic HOF2 vs MXR M300

I am very much torn as I don't know which reverb to buy. I play anything of the rock persuasion with a prs SE custom 24 into an Egnater Tweaker 15. I run a Tumnus in front for boost/dirt when needed and need something to give it some space in the series effects loop. I like something with versatility but something small so the Boss rv6, hof2 and mxr m300 come to mind. Story on ar wond drum but huge so they are out. Not a huge fan of boss pedals in general but I know the reverbs are solid. Mash looks like fun on the hof2 and added shimmer but the idea of switching on the fly with my foot on the mxr tone knob is a nice feature. I would use the pad a lot and then switch to spring because it sounds VERY realistic. I'm a sucker for modulated verb as well. I'm even considering something like the Wampler Ethereal cause it's so versitle with 2 in 1. That being said I owned a Keeley Caverns and didn't care for it cause neither side felt complete. Thing is, that I want it all and can only convince the wife to let me buy one and maybe add a delay somewhere down the line if I'm lucky. Thanks in advance for the input!

I have an HOF, but I've never used it. I'm intrigued by the MASH feature. Another one of those things that never would have occurred to me as something that I was missing. And yet. Also, I like the two extra TonePrint slots. I don't know about the shimmer. I'm just thinking that I could be not using an upgraded pedal with cool new features, instead of what I have now.

How do you USE reverb?

Making a Hall sound?

Just a little room Ala Spring verb set low?

Plate for a snappy bright quality?

If it's just a "The amp knob on 2-3 all the time" I say just get a Mooer Shimverb.

If you use a couple of types a small Hall of Fame.

In Boss size, think about a Digitech Hardwire, especially if your taste in verb varies a bit.

Some truly great pro players are using the Hall of Fame.

I'm not great, but that's the one I use too.

I love the idea of a short spring but then tapping the tone knob of a mxr m300 to get to a pad for swells.
The Mash on the TC would also allow me having a short decay church setting for a little room then mashing it for a longer decay when needing more ambience on the fly.
So to answer your question... I want my cake and to eat it too 🤣

I've only played the rv-6, neunaber immerse and strymon big sky and the immerse is my favourite when it comes to ease of use, tone and price

So I got the HOF 2 and holy cow I am loving the multiple toneprint options. The deep cathedral one is huge and not too heavily modulated like some of the others. Also believe it or not the mash function is extremely intuitive and love that I can set it to only increase the amount of decay so I can get a freeze type of feel from it when I want on the fly. Shimmer is cool but think it needs a bit of tweaking to get it more pad-like but it wasn't even a choice when I bought it local for 130$. Couldn't say no to that!

The HOF is better and I think it's less money. Make sure you order used so you save tons. I had a HOF and regret selling it. It does everything you need and it is less complicated than the MXR reverb, which is a bit overpriced for what it is.

I had both. Sold the HOF. A while later bought a Neunaber Immerse and sold the M300.

Check out the Digitech Polara as well. I had an original HOF and the plate was awesome! I liked it so much a bough a HOF mini. I've since sold both and am not running reverb at the moment actually.
